Your assistance is needed

ESC Congress 2024 in London provided an excellent opportunity to debrief on policy advances at the national level, within the EU and beyond. The negotiations are now ongoing around the draft 'Council Conclusions on Improving Cardiovascular Health in the EU'. It is therefore a critical time for all countries in the European Union to support the need for a European CV health plan.

We ask all National Cardiac Societies in the EU to reach out to your contacts in your respective Ministries of Health to encourage positive reception of the draft text.

In particular, we are calling for a dedicated research mission for CVD in the next framework programme of the European Commission, for the EU to assist Member States in establishing or expanding national registries, and to maintain the need for early detection of cardiovascular disease. The ESC Advocacy Team in Brussels are ready to support - so please don't hesitate to reach out to advocacy@escardio.org.

Endorsement

All National Cardiac Societies are invited to officially endorse the new ESC Guidelines 2024 before 29 November. Please complete the online form. 

Translation

To make the guidelines 100% accessible to your members, we encourage you to translate these guidelines, including their derivative products, into your national language. The right to translate is exclusive to your society for the next six months.

Before we reach out to our members and communities, we want to ensure that you, as our partners, are aware of the first ESC Cardio-Oncology conference, taking place in Florence next June.

Organised by the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology, the conference aims to unite specialists to improve care for oncology patients and cancer survivors treated with cardiotoxic therapies. Please share with your community. Find out more

ESC Atlas of Cardiology

The fourth edition of the ESC Atlas of Cardiology, featuring the 2023 CVD statistics, is now available. We appreciate your continued support of the ESC Atlas project and your valuable contributions from your country. It is through our combined efforts that we have built this widely recognised and influential initiative. The ESC Atlas remains an essential advocacy tool, helping to drive our shared mission of reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease.

The ESC Atlas of Cardiology gives you access to resources including the CV Realities booklet, the EHJ, key messages and highlights, selected and downloadable Infographics ready-to-use for dissemination, and previous editions of the ESC Atlas of Cardiology. 

The full booklet 'ESC Cardiovascular Realities 2024' is available online, as well as printed copies upon request at the EHH and the Brussels office.
